Karin Li had many years
of professional training in Chinese Folk dance before she came to the U.S. If
you attended the CAGK Chinese New Year celebration in 2008 and 2009 you will
remember her as the lead dancer in many of the amazing dance performances. She also taught
and choreographed the children’s dance “Hao Ri Zi” and the
“Peacock Dance” performed at the CAGK Chinese New Year Celebration
2009 and 2008, respectively. Again, we are grateful to Ms Karin for her
continuous support to expand our MCSK’s art and cultural program.
class is expected to accommodate up to 12 students and no previous training is
required, just a desire to dance. The class is recommended for students ages 6-year
and older. The class will meet on Friday nights from 8:40-9:30 p.m. immediately
following our regular language classes. The first session will be a 8-week
session between December 7 and February 12. The cost is $64. There may be a
minor cost for costume if the program is selected for the Chinese New Year
Celebration 2010 (based on last year’s experience). Students need to wear
comfortable clothes and ballet shoes when taking the class. You may stop by the school on Fridays to enroll in person.
